Today, this Purim day of feasting, we wake to white righteousness blanketing everything we see. Wow. So beautiful.
About 2500 years ago, Queen Esther, uninvited, approached the great hall, the throne of her husband, King Xerxes of Persia. God saved the Jewish people in all of the Persian Empire (from Ethiopia to India) from certain death, and gave them the ability to defend themselves against their enemies. That day of defense has been celebrated ever since, as Purim.
Tuesday, the leader of the Jewish nation came, uninvited, to the seat of legal authority in our nation: the great hall of Congress. In a rally cry, Esther’s words were reborn and her tone vibrated within our halls of law.
I know many people who were fasting and praying this year, in the days ahead of Purim. God’s ways and His timing are perfect. I cannot help my awe of God increasing as I witness so many historical events lining up with Jewish feasts. You all know my love of the 7 Feasts of the Lord and what they mean… I never would have thought that Purim – my Purim – would be added this year as historically significant to not only the Jews, but to the Gentile nations. Is the ‘one new man’ Paul prophesied in Ephesians beginning to form? God knows what the future holds – and we know Who holds us in the palm of His hand.
Enjoy the video below. It’s a Mandisa song (love her) with movie clips from “One Night with The King.” Very, very interesting, considering the timing of this week’s events.
Born for such a time as this!
The Word of God is powerful and effective when we pray.
